Eyebrow Microblading Procedure

PERMANENT MAKEUP REMOVAL

People choose to have their old permanent makeup or microblading removed for all different reasons:

  • Colour has changed to unwanted grey/blue/salmon tones

  • Over-saturation of pigment

  • Wanting a different style of brows

  • Simply not for them anymore

Having been in the permanent makeup industry since 2017 I have gained a wealth of experience in this area. When brows have turned grey, many artists will tell you they can 'warm them up' with a colour correction. Sadly we have found that this is only a very temporary solution and in time the pigment will turn grey again because there is no room left in the skin to accept new pigment. In these situations even if you are wanting to continue having permanent makeup treatments, you are best to have 1-3 sessions of laser to help 'lighten' the old pigment out. This will make more room in the skin to accept new pigment and give you a much nicer long-term result. Since 2020/2021 pigment technology has become so much better and we now have great brands to work with that fade well and no longer leave you with these grey/ash brows. If you would like some free advice please email a photo of your brows to the clinic.

Whatever your reason is for wanting removal, if you are looking for a reputable clinic in Essex to help you remove your unwanted permanent makeup or microblading, we can help you safely achieve this.

We have two types of removal technology available - laser and botched ink solution. Laser is effective for most types of removal and can quickly begin to lift out the old pigment. However as the pigment breaks down and reveals different tones of colour, occasionally tones such as yellow can be left. Laser is unable to see yellow pigment so in these cases we can opt for our botched ink solution removal. Being qualified in both methods means we are able to offer our clients honest advice on what will work best for them.

What should I expect during a laser permanent makeup / microblading removal treatment?

Sessions for permanent makeup brow removal are very quick and can be done in a matter of minutes. Rapid light pulses from the laser break down the target ink. Protective eyewear is provided for you to wear during the treatment. There may be some mild discomfort during the treatment but we manage this accordingly for you. Immediate response to the skin can include some minor swelling, redness and a tender feeling. This can last around 24-48 hours but varies with each client.

Similar to a body tattoo - there is no 'set amount' of sessions as each case is unique. It will depend on factors such as what pigment was used, how the artist has worked in the skin, how many times the brows have been topped up as well as skin and lifestyle factors. In some cases where a client has been wanting to remove and replace with new brows, 3 sessions has been sufficient.

Laser tattoo removal is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, active skin conditions e.g. eczema in the treatment area, history of keloid scarring, some auto-immune disorders, use of blood thinning medication and use of Roaccutane (acne medication) in the last 12 months.

You must also keep the treated area out of the sun whilst healing and continue to use SPF 50 to protect the skin.
